Resilience | Inheritance | Playful Precision | Out Source | Political Papers | Travel Tales
Out Source is a series of drawings on exhibition handouts. It’s a play of sorts on “handout” and “outsourcing”. Though, perhaps more importantly, I’m wondering about the original source and whether that source can be outed, as in revealed, or taken out, as in discarded.
All these playful drawings begin with ink monoprints applied in a random way that bears no relation to the paper. I then work with and against a memory of the original exhibition, as well as acknowledging the presence of what is directly and physically in front of me. In other words, the page itself, as a reality of straight lines and text. All titles are derived from the text printed on the page itself.
